A Symbol of Hope Born from Ashes

The devastating fireplaces in Paradise, California last November left Shane Edwards without a home.  His friend, an artist, asked if he could paint a mural on what was left of the brick chimney to show that there is beauty in the face of devastation.  Check out the inspirational painting, a symbol of hope and faith.

Look Inside: A beautiful "Marble" Fireplace Mantel

One of the things we love is the ability for painting to completely transform a fireplace. On our site we have many different methods for updating an old fireplace, but this home’s fireplace has a one of a kind paint job. This gorgeous home, listed for sale at the time of writing, has a beautiful large marble mantel around the fireplace. What is so interesting about this? The mantel isn’t actually made of marble.
